On 11 August 2026, a Namibian delegation led by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Gambling Board of Namibia, comprising of representatives from the Namibia Revenue Agency and the Namibia Standards Institution, engaged with the South African Bureau of Standards to discuss the development and implementation of technical standards for the gambling industry in Namibia.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the institutions to exchange knowledge, expertise and experiences on the development and application of technical standards within the gambling sector.
The collaboration with the South African Bureau of Standards further presents an opportunity for Namibia to leverage on already established technical expertise and best practices while working with the Namibia Standards Institution towards the development of national technical standards that are fair, transparent and promote responsible gambling within the Namibian gambling industry.
The engagement marks an important step towards strengthening Namibia’s gambling industry regulatory framework.
